Steaua Rosie/ RED STAR factory

This project is linked with more metaphorical visualization of post-Soviet space as a derelict and abandoned places. Every fourth citizen of Moldova leaves and leaving the country because of the poor and sustainable living .
It can be said that Moldova  now is the ruins of the former Soviet civilization, waiting for a miracle and a better life.” Artist shows in this fotos also small story about her  mother and soviet past. Her mother worked during 25 years   at the Soviet garment factory called “Steaua Rosie”(“Red Star”).

Enterprise “Steaua Rosie” (“Red Star”) in the Soviet era was the flagship of the Moldovan light industry. . This factory in soviet times had 18 departments, 240 brigades and 3855 workers of communist labor.
Since 1999, the decision of the Economic Court, for the huge debts and subject to liquidation in bankruptcy.

These clothing artist’s mother bought and recieved as salary in period of Perestroika in 90s.  She think that can be useful after collapse of USSR. But nobody  from her family not to dress on during last 20 years.

In the background of these fotos there is wild park called “Lenin” at soviet time. Now this park as forest – abandoned place with wild dogs. It is also a metaphor of space where the artist lives.
